Christian Growth

The Bible teaches that we grow as a Christian through reading the Bible, praying, worshipping, spending time with other Christians, and by sharing the Gospel with those who are not yet saved. We can take personal responsibility for much of our own spiritual growth by developing these godly habits which lead to growth. Sometimes, though, it is good to receive help from other Christians to help us grow.

Our main pastoring takes place in our midweek Neighbourhood Groups, as each pair of small group leaders takes responsibility for pastoring the 10-14 individuals whom God has given them to lead. Another important place for basic Christian discipleship is the Beta Course. Another great opportunity is getting involved in outreach together, but much of this spiritual growth takes place more informally through spending time together rather than just through courses.

We do run some central training to help people to grow in God. These include Word Plus which is a theological training course, running for ten Saturdays across a two year period, and Fan Into Flame which is a course to help people to discover their gifting. We also offer pastoral counselling for those who need help with more deep-seated issues.

If you are interested in any of this training or pastoral help, then please email us at info@coign.org or ring us on 01483 714150.
